The Ripon Soroptimists are part of Soroptimist International
Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who provide volunteer service to their communities. Almost 100,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community–based and international projects benefiting women and girls.
The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best.
Currently the Ripon Soroptimists are actively sponsoring several exciting community projects including: Donations to the Children's Hospital in Madera, CA, offering scholarships to young women in Ripon, and our most recent project is helping to open the South County Crisis Center for Women- the first operating shelter for women and children in Ripon. We hold two major fundraisers each year- our Golf Tournament (Fall 2008) and Ripon E.V.E.- an "Evening of Vines and Easels"- (May 2008). If you would like more information on how you can take part in our fundraisers, give Jennifer a call today, (209) 505-7885.
